Five steps. That's all.

Follow the steps below in order — the whole thing takes about two minutes from click to installed.

1

Download the installer

≈ 10 sec

Click the Download PDF Updater button below. The installer file () downloads automatically — nothing to unzip, nothing else to click.

Don't see the download? Open your browser's download list with Ctrl + J.
2

Open the downloaded file

≈ 10 sec

When the download finishes, click the file straight from your browser's download bar (bottom-left in Edge/Chrome), or open your Downloads folder and double-click .

3

Allow Windows to run it

≈ 20 sec

If you see a blue Windows protected your PC message, don't worry — this is expected for internally distributed software. Click through it like this:

Windows protected your PC → More info → Run anyway

If Windows asks "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?", click Yes — the installer needs permission to set the program up.

This file comes from our company's own site, so it's safe to run. Questions? Check with before continuing.
4

Follow the setup wizard

≈ 40 sec

The installer walks you through everything: click Next → Install → wait for the progress bar → Finish. Keep the default options unless IT has asked you to change something.

5

Verify the installation

≈ 10 sec

Click the Start menu and type "PDF Updater" — it should appear immediately. Open it and check Help → About to confirm the version: . You're all set! 🎉

Don't see it in the Start menu? Restart your PC and check again — if it's still missing, contact IT using the link at the bottom of this page.

Ready? Grab the installer.

Yes. That warning (SmartScreen) appears for any app that isn't widely downloaded yet — including software distributed internally by companies. The installer is published by IT. Click More info → Run anyway to continue. If anything looks different from the steps on this page, stop and contact IT first.

The installer asks for permission to make changes to your device (a standard Windows prompt) — just click Yes. On locked-down machines, if you're blocked, log a ticket with IT and we'll push the install to you remotely.

No. Just run this installer — it upgrades PDF Updater in place and keeps your settings. Your PDFs are not touched at any point.

Every download is served directly from our own server. If IT asks you to verify it, compare the SHA-256 checksum of your downloaded file against this value — it matches the current exactly:

The installer is a standard Windows MSI package, so it supports unattended deployment via Intune/SCCM/GPO, e.g. msiexec /i PDFUpdater.msi /qn. Add /l*v install.log to capture a log if needed. Or just point Intune at the /download URL on this site.

Still stuck? We've got you.

If anything on this page doesn't match what you see, or the install fails, don't battle it alone — reach out and we'll sort it quickly.
